Opportunity Zones
Opportunity Zones were created in 2017 with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as a way to incentivize capital investments in low-income communities that have experienced a lack of business growth.
Redevelopment Ready Communities and Rising Communities
Redevelopment Ready Sites are located within Certified Redevelopment Ready Communities, a program designed to prepare communities to offer a transparent, predictable, and efficient development experience. Sites have been hand-picked by these communities as priority redevelopment opportunities. The program prepares communities to offer transparent, predictable and efficient development experiences.
Michigan Build Ready Sites
Build Ready Sites are meant to assist the development of industrial sites to help them meet Vetted Site Standards and make the sites more competitive during the site selection process. The grants were awarded to 31 counties across the state including Allegan, Ionia, Kent, Newaygo and Ottawa.
